Skoda in India will launch one of their most awaited products this year. We're talking about the all new Skoda Octavia/Laura of course. However, another product that has been updated internationally is the Skoda Superb.

The refreshed Skoda Superb was unveiled (on the internet) only last month. In fact, the new Superb hasn't commenced deliveries yet. Only the price was announced very recently in the UK market where the Superb will start from a price of 18,555 pounds for the base 1.4 TSI model (INR 15.55 lakhs).

New Superb is cosmetically different. Rear tail lamp is almost Audi like!

Our friends at Gaadi.com report that Skoda India will show the new Superb at the 2014 Auto Expo (sometime in February at Noida) and would also conduct the launch of the car there.

New Superb offers limousine like space for Mercedes A Class money.

Visually, the new Superb can be recognized thanks to its bigger headlamps. The front grill has also been changed keeping in sync with the new family logo. At the rear, the tail lamps feature a new LED design. The numberplate holder has also been pushed up to the boot lid and the bumper is redesigned too.

Inside, the new Superb can be identified thanks to the all new four spoke steering wheel. The cabin retains its basic design, but some parts such as the gear knob, the central music system and the buttons for controlling the aircon, witness a change. The rear seat passenger can now push the front passenger seat fore and aft thanks to a button, a feature that has trickled down from high end luxury cars.

Engine wise, Skoda promises a fuel efficiency improvement of over 19% in some of them. Thanks to a Start/Stop which is fitted as standard across the diesel range, expect the new Superb to do better between the fuel pumps.
