New TVS Apache RTR 200 4V spotted with LED headlamp
TVS is working on bringing LED headlamp to the Apache RTR 200 4V. A test unit of the motorcycle was spotted by a MotorVikatan reader at Hosur, the city where the company’s manufacturing and R&D facilities are located. Besides that, the motorcycle seems to miss out on LED DRLs seen in the present version.
The test unit may very well be the BS-VI version of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. The reader further claimed that the test unit had a split seat. An LED headlamp will make the Apache 200 only the 2nd product in the TVS line-up to get this feature (the other being the TVS Apache RR310).
The LED headlamp seems to be of the same shape as the halogen headlamp of the current model. Besides that, the front fender and tank extensions bear the same design. TVS may add new decals also to the motorcycle with this update.

In its present BS-IV compliant form, the Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.75 cc oil-cooled engine. The carburetted variant produces 20.5 PS of power, while the fuel injected trim churns out 21 PS. The torque output in both the variants is the same - 18.1 Nm. The bike is suspended over conventional telescopic fork up front and a KYB-tuned monoshock in the rear. Brakes include petal discs at both ends. The ABS system is assisted by rear lift-off protection.
TVS had introduced an Anti-Reverse Torque slipper clutch in March 2018. The company claims that this technology helps in reducing the clutch force by 22% for quicker upshifts.
After the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V could be the next to gain LED headlamp. TVS recently launched the 2019 edition of TVS Apache RR 310 in India with slipper clutch and a new glossy black paint option.
