New variant of TVS Star City+ launched in India
Today, TVS Motor Company launched a new variant for its commuter motorcycle, TVS Star City+ for the festive season. The new variant of the TVS Star City+ features a Grey & Black dual-tone paint, dual tone mirrors, 'Ecothrust' 110cc engine and Synchronized Braking Technology (SBT). The dual tone edition is priced at INR 52,907 (Ex-Showroom Delhi) and is available at all TVS Motor Company showrooms across India.

The new variant also features the TVS chrome 3D label, a crown visor, and a black grab rail. Apart from the new Grey-Black colour, the TVS Star City+ dual tone editions are also available in Black-Red, Black-Blue and Red-Black colour options.
Mechanical specifications remain identical to the existing TVS Star City+ and the motorcycle comes equipped with a four-speed gearbox. The 110cc “Ecothrust” engine delivers 8.4 PS of maximum power @ 7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm of peak torque @ 5,000 rpm.
TVS Motor Company’s combined braking system or linked braking system, christened Synchronized Braking Technology (SBT), activates the front and rear brake simultaneously, thus aimed to ensure safety of the rider.
The new variant is aimed to further boost the domestic sales of the two-wheeler brand during the festive season. In August 2018, TVS Motor Company registered a sales growth of 8%. The two-wheeler brand sold 343,217 units in August 2018 as against 317,563 units in the corresponding month last year. In the domestic business, TVS Motor Company sold 275,688 units in August 2018 as compared to 270,544 units in the corresponding month last year. Motorcycle sales stood at 131,743 units while scooters did 126,676 units in August 2018.
Apart from the new Star City+, TVS Motor Company has also launched the Radeon commuter in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 48,400. The Radeon, too, uses the same engine as the StaR City+ and comes equipped with SBT’s safety net.

TVS Star City+ has been the top ranked motorcycle in J.D. Power customer survey consistently for the last three years. The motorcycle has garnered No.1 position in APEAL score as per J.D. Power Study for three years in a row and is rated as the No. 1 Economy motorcycle in 2018.
