The 2019 Ram 1500’s designs have almost entirely leaked in spy shots captured at FCA’s headquarters in Michigan, courtesy Motor1.com.

The next-gen Ram 1500 features a more contemporary design at the front.

The 2019 Ram features a more contemporary design. Redesigned headlamps flank the new hexagonal grille and there’s a full-length chrome grille sandwiched between them and the resculpted bonnet. The radiator grille is no longer unattractively positioned much higher than the headlamps now. Below that shines a redesigned, chrome bumper with cuttings for fog lamps on the outer ends.

The lower grille is still minuscule if compared to the prominent upper grille, but appears to have two sensors or cameras for some driver assistive technology now. The hood has ‘1500 HEMI 5.7L’ branding on the right side, pointing out the engine lying beneath it. At the rear, the tailgate, chrome bumper and tail lamps - all have a new design, but still look very familiar. Reports say that the redesigned model’s hood and tailgate are aluminium, unlike the old model’s steel-made units.

Along with the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 naturally aspirated engine, Ram may offer a new 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine with turbocharging and direct injection and the 3.6-litre Pentastar naturally aspirated V6 engine in the 2019 Ram 1500. There’s speak of a mild-hybrid system too for the new generation model.

The next-gen Ram 1500 will debut at NAIAS 2017. Current Ram 1500 pictured.
