As with the previous lifecycle makeover, the Hyundai i20 will set new benchmarks in its segment with various new advanced features in the next lifecycle makeover that is scheduled to take place in 2020. According to a new report from Autocar India, the third-gen Hyundai i20 due next year will feature a digital instrument panel.

The 2020 Hyundai i20 will feature the same digital instrument panel as the 2020 Hyundai ix25.

The Hyundai i20 currently features a dual-pod instrument panel with a MID screen placed in the centre. The fully digital instrument panel replacing this unit will be the same unit seen on the all-new Hyundai ix25 (which India will get as the all-new Hyundai Creta) and the new Hyundai Verna in China.

Apart from the digital instrument panel, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will also feature BlueLink connected-car tech which was seen for the first time in the Venue. It will also use a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and is expected to carry forward the current features such as wireless charging, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, push-button start-stop, front and rear armrests and six airbags, from the current model.

As for the mechanicals, the next-gen Hyundai i20 will carry forward the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol which will be upgraded to BS-VI. Furthermore, the other option will include Kia Seltos' 1.5-litre diesel unit sans VGT. It will be linked to a standard 6-speed MT gearbox. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will be paired to a 5-speed MT. Currently, the Hyundai i20 is available with the (100 PS/120 PS) 1.0-litre T-GDI linked to a 7-speed DCT in the international markets. In the third generation, this combination will be made available in India as well.
