Next-gen Honda Jazz (Honda Fit) - IAB Rendering

The third generation Honda Jazz (Honda Fit) was introduced in 2013 and received a mid-cycle facelift in 2017. Now, the fourth generation model is in the works, and it will likely make its first public appearance next year. IAB’s automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania has presented his depiction of the future model in a rendering.

2019 Honda Jazz Rendering Image Side Profile

IAB's rendering of the 2020 Honda Jazz is not purely speculative; it incorporates details revealed by the first spy shots that surfaced at the end of last month. The Japanese supermini will retain the cab-forward stance and the large DLO post the next full model change. The front-end will be as per the latest design language that was first seen on the tenth generation Honda Civic. The rendered model features the brand's signature wing grille and a sporty front bumper with a large air dam. The swept-back headlamps will carry LED fixtures and could be curvaceous.

On the sides, the rendered fourth generation Honda Jazz looks a bit more sophisticated than the current version. It has a bold shoulder line running parallel to the beltline and connects the front fender with the tail lamps. The front vent glass has grown in size. The mirrors are sleeker and but don't miss out the familiar rounded look. At the rear, expect a sleek pair of wrap-around combination lamps, a subtle roof-mounted spoiler and a notably short overhang.

The fourth generation Jazz could be underpinned by an upgraded version of the current model's platform. It will be sold with a wide range of engine options. Honda is likely to continue offering small i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol engines at the lower end of the spectrum. More advanced, all-new powertrain options should include 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo petrol, dual-motor i-MMD hybrid (1.5L i-VTEC engine + two electric motors) and pure electric. The purely battery-powered variant will offer a range of 300 km on a full charge.

The next-gen Honda Jazz could go on sale in India sometime in 2020. Interestingly, reports say that its hybrid variant is planned for our market, but prospective customers will have to wait until at least 2021 for that.
