Next-gen Hyundai Santa Fe rendered
Hyundai testing all-new model in Europe.
The third generation Hyundai Santa Fe hit the markets in 2012 and received a mid-life facelift in 2015. Now, Hyundai is working on the fourth generation model that will go on sale next year.
The fourth-gen Hyundai Santa Fe was spied testing for the first time just last month, and based on that, The Korean Car Blog has created a rendering of the future model to give an early preview of the design changes. The rendering suggests that the next-gen Hyundai Santa Fe's front-end will have inspiration from the Hyundai Intrado concept and perhaps some similarity to the upcoming Hyundai B-SUV. The cascading grille will make it to the mid-size SUV too.
The mid-size SUV will continue with an upgraded version of the current model's platform. It's expected to have some gains in length and wheelbase for more interior space for passengers and luggage both. The prototype spotted last month was of a three-row version, but a two-version is likely to continue. A more tech-laden cabin would help make the Santa Fe get more modern.

Like the platform, the current range of engines, including the 3.3-litre naturally aspirated V6 and 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol units, would also see some upgrades. Transmission choices will include a new 8-speed automatic unit. Front-wheel drive should continue as the standard drivetrain layout, with all-wheel drive available on higher-end models.
