Next-gen Land Rover Discovery imagined - Rendering
Introduced at the 2009 New York International Auto Show, the Land Rover Discovery 4 was essentially a significantly revised third generation Land Rover Discovery.
Later this year, reports claim that the all-new fifth generation Land Rover Discovery will be introduced.
The new generation Land Rover Discovery will be a completely new model, expressing the design that was introduced with the Range Rover Evoque and later on used for the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
As seen in this rendering from Omni Auto, the next-gen model's exterior will be heavily inspired by that of the Land Rover Discovery Vision concept.
The next-gen Land Rover Discovery will be based on the Range Rover's PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) platform, and so, will be remarkably lighter. It should be offered with 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol and diesel engine choices, and 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic transmission options. The drivetrain layout will be all-wheel drive as standard.
