It's unclear if an AMT will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants, or in just the latter like the current Maruti Swift Dzire. Other than AMT, the next gen Maruti Swift is also reported to feature the SHVS mild-hybrid system which, along with the Baleno's lightweight platform, could increase fuel efficiency to class-leading figures as well as receive tax incentives from the government's FAME initiative.

The next gen Maruti Swift is reported to launch in India in H2 2017, after the next gen Maruti Swift Dzire arrives (reported to launch in May 2017). A spyshot from last week has revealed the final design of the international-spec Maruti Swift's face. The design is an evolutionary step forward while preserving some of the familiar lines.
