The Nissan Juke made its market debut back in June 2010. The first-gen Juke was a revelation in car designing and opened doors to a new segment altogether which gained popularity across the world. Now, the second-gen Nissan Juke is being readied for launch this year, and recently, it was spied on test in Paris. The test mule was seen wearing huge sized alloy wheels which hint that the new model may have different wheel size options.

The next-gen Nissan Juke draws inspiration from the Nissan Gripz Concept.

Following the footsteps of the original Nissan Juke, the next-gen Nissan Juke will have an extreme and radical design, apparently even more so. It draws inspiration from the Nissan Gripz Concept which was introduced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It has been designed by Nissan Design Europe (London) and will make its world debut on 3 September 2019. A compact V-motion grille flanked by two-tier front lights comprising super-sleek LED DRLs at the bonnet level and tri-arrow pattern headlights, floating roofline, upswept beltline and notably rakish back glass are some of the peculiar design cues of the all-new model.

The second-gen Juke will be the first Nissan model underpinned by the CMF-B platform that debuted in the fifth-gen Renault Clio in January. This platform has two sub-types - CMF-B LS (low specifications) and CMF-B HS (high specifications). As the Nissan Juke is primarily targeted at developed markets, it will obviously use the latter. Reports say that the interior space would grow, thanks to a 50 mm longer wheelbase which will make the cabin roomier.

The next-gen Nissan Juke will be available in several mechanical configurations. In addition to a standard variant with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine, a plug-in hybrid variant is expected. The standard variant could also feature electrification, with select configurations being available with a mild-hybrid system.

The next-gen Juke will be the first Nissan model underpinned by the CMF-B platform.
