Next gen Ssangyong Rodius caught under bright sunlight

Regular Indian Autos Blog readers know what is Ssanyong Rodius and how big and off the beat it its! We brought you the information that the Mahindra owned South Korean auto marque is working on a replacement for the mammoth MPV that could seat a dozen.

Following the spyshots of the car, Ssangyong has released the official sketches of the next gen Ssangyong Rodius. Thankfully the design is a clear departure from the earlier car which is considered as an eye sore by most of the people.

The curves are replaced by edges and that has made the MPV even more imposing. The spyshots of the car, being on public road in what appears to be South Korea were posted by a user called MickaBZH on Worldscoop.forumpro.fr.

The big MPV is expected to be powered by Ssangyong's 2.0 litre diesel engine that was developed in house and also powers Korando C. The engine reportedly comes in two states of tune - 148 bhp and 173 bhp. The car could also use Mercedes licensed 3.2 litre petrol motor.

Given that the car has already hit the public roads complete with badges, we reckon that the next gen Ssangyong Rodius is not far away from its global debut. A Geneva Motor Show unveil is our hunch.
