Next-gen Toyota Corolla Altis teased, to debut on 16 November

The sedan body style of the 12th generation Toyota Corolla will make its world debut at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition on 16 November. The new model will go on sale in several markets as the all-new Toyota Corolla Altis in the first-half of 2019. A new teaser released by the company shows silhouettes of the hatchback, estate, and sedan versions of the new model. It states - 'A new era for Corolla.'

The sedan version of the 12th generation Toyota Corolla will be underpinned by the GA-C version of the TNGA platform.

The next-gen Toyota Corolla Altis will feature a lookalike of the front-end styling seen on the sedan and the wagon. The deviation could be courtesy of an updated grille and subtle modifications to the bumpers. That said, in line with the other body types, the sedan will likely have an aggressive design with bold creases, well-sculpted surfaces, and LED lighting setup.

The front-end of the next-gen Toyota Corolla Altis is expected to sport J-shaped bi-beam LED headlamps, a huge trapezoidal air dam, and a clamshell hood. The side profile is expected to feature pronounced wheel arches, dual-tone machined alloy wheels, and a rising beltline. The rear should feature sleek wrap-around LED tail lamps.

On the inside, the next-gen Toyota Corolla Altis will feature a more upmarket dashboard with a clean layout. Taking centre stage on the dash will be a floating-type touchscreen interface for the infotainment unit. The new model is expected to receive an electronic parking brake. The equipment list should include 7-inch TFT MID, Qi wireless charging, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control and eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
