Developed by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific in Thailand.

According to a report from livemint, Toyota Motor Asia Pacific is developing the next generation Toyota Vios with Indian specifications in mind, and will make its Indian debut in January 2018.

The current Toyota Vios is a considerably larger car than the Etios, measuring 4,410 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width, and 1,475 mm in height.

It also states that Toyota Kirloskar Motor has placed orders for components of its next-generation Vios, which further affirms its introduction in India. It will pack two new engines: a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine, which could either be manufactured at Toyota's upcoming engine plant in Jigani, Karnataka or imported in some form from Thailand.

The report's source divulges that Toyota initially aimed to sell only 25,000 units of the next gen Vios in India, in the beginning, but later raised it to 65,000 units a year, which could attributed to the forecast of the steady growth of the Indian passenger vehicle market in the next two years.
