Nissan India revises product lineup, Micra petrol gets only CVT

Numerous variants of Sunny, Micra and Terrano now discontinued.

Nissan India has revised their product lineup ahead of the festive season, wherein they have trimmed the number of variants of each product by half. The product lineup comprises of the Nissan Terrano, Sunny, Micra and Micra Active.

Gone is the 5-speed manual gearbox option for the Nissan Micra petrol variant, leaving the X-Tronic CVT option for both XL and XV grades.

The Nissan Micra hatchback receives the most significant revision. Gone is the 5-speed manual gearbox option for the petrol variant, leaving the X-Tronic CVT option for both XL and XV grades. Nissan has also discontinued the base XE and top XVP diesel trims, where the latter was equipped with four airbags. A driver airbag is standard across the range , while dual airbags are fitted in the XV petrol.

Its less expensive sibling, the Nissan Micra Active, is not available in the base XE grade anymore, leaving the XL, XV and XV S. The Nissan Sunny XV petrol is now equipped with a CVT as standard, instead of the mid-spec Sunny XL, while the XV premium diesel with leather upholstery has been discontinued.

As for the Terrano, Nissan have discontinued the 85 PS Terrano XL variant, 110 PS Terrano XL and 110 PS Terrano XV grades (all three are diesel variants). This leaves a lineup comprising of the Terrano XL petrol, 85 PS Terrano XE and XL Plus and 110 PS Terrano XV Premium.
