Nissan Leaf Grand Touring Concept revealed for 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon

Nissan is taking full advantage of the second-gen Nissan Leaf’s dynamic character by introducing sporty new concepts. At the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show the company showcased the Nissan Leaf NISMO Concept. Now, it has revealed the Nissan Leaf Grand Touring Concept for the 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon.

The Nissan Leaf Grand Touring Concept features a two-tone exterior colour scheme in black and matte silver, black 5-double spoke alloy wheels and wheel arch extensions to house the wider tyres. Nissan hasn’t revealed the Nissan Leaf Grand Touring Concept’s interior, but the info released does mention usage of black accents to go with the concept’s special colour scheme.

Nissan hasn’t revealed the specifications of the Nissan Grand Touring Concept yet. The regular second-gen Nissan Leaf is powered by the new EM57 electric motor that generates 150 PS from 3,283-9,795 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 0-3,283 rpm. A 40 kWh lithium-ion battery supplies power to this electric motor. Full charg takes 16 hours (3 kW charger)/8 hours (6 kW charger). Using a quick charger, though, charging from alert to 80% takes only 40 minutes. The 2018 Nissan Leaf offers a driving range (JC08 test cycle) of 400 km.

The 2018 Nissan Leaf went on sale in Japan on 2 October 2017. Its prices range from ¥31,50,360-39,90,600 (INR 17,78,176.28-22,52,437.90).
