NAIAS Live - Nissan Sport Sedan Concept

The Nissan Sport Sedan Concept had its unveiling at the Detroit Motor Show today. The concept is likely to influence the next generation Maxima sedan.

Speaking about its design, Nissan says the concept combines the V-shaped grille, a “floating" roof and boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights that are the norm in modern Nissans such as the new Qashqai and X-Trail.

The concept measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, 1,378 mm in height and has a wheelbase spanning 2,825 mm.

Powering the concept is a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing upwards of 300 hp. It uses a CVT gearbox to send power to its front wheels. Nissan has also provided the concept with a sports suspension with dynamic dampers.

The car was created by Nissan Design America in San Diego, California, and developed at the Nissan Global Design Center in Atsugi, Japan. More details are available in the press release below.
