NissanConnect App for Nissan Mirca, Sunny & Terrano upgraded

Nissan has launched an upgraded version of the NissanConnect smartphone app. The new version comes with as many as 18 new features as per the company that helps enhance its "control, convenience, safety & security and social sharing".

The NissanConnect app has been developed by Renault Nissan Technology Business Centre India (RNTBCI) tailored specifically for India car buyers/owners.

The company says that the app aims to help keep owners keep a watchful eye on their vehicles and track its whereabouts. NissanConnect can come in handy in cases where the car is regularly driven by someone other than the owner, a chauffeur for instance.

The app comes with zero subscription charges for three years and is available across its range, which includes the Nissan Micra, Nissan Sunny, and Nissan Terrano. Existing owners can get the module retrofitted for INR 15,000.

Nissan in India currently has five models in its lineup - Nissan Micra Active, Nissan Micra, Nissan Sunny, Nissan Terrano, and Nissan GT-R. The Micra Active is priced from INR 4.74 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The Micra and Sunny start INR 5.99 lakhs and INR 6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards respectively. The Nissan Terrano has been priced between INR 9.99 lakhs and INR 14.48 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) while the Nissan GT-R retails for INR 2.12 crore (ex-showroom). Nissan owned Datsun sells the Redi-GO, Redi-GO 1.0, GO and GO+ in the market.

As per a recent report, Nissan's next model for the Indian market will be the Kicks SUV. It will rival the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur. It will be arriving in India in the coming months the report says. The Nissan Terra is also a potential future model for the Indian market. The company has been seen testing the Nissan Note e-Power on Indian roads fairly regularly.
