No look change for the new Honda Jazz in India
First images of the Indian-spec new Honda Jazz are out courtesy Autocar India. These images reveal that unlike the international markets, the new Honda Jazz in India looks the same as the outgoing car.
When the new Honda Jazz’s equipment list leaked last week, it was confirmed that unlike international markets, India wouldn’t get the full-LED headlamps. The latest images show that Honda has skipped not just full-LED headlights, but the complete facelift package. Sure, the odd reflectors on the tailgate now house an extended portion of the tail lights, but there’s no other change.
The latest development takes us back to April this year when a report said that Honda has decided not to give a facelift to the Honda Jazz in India. The MMC (minor model change) is almost entirely about equipment revision. These are the final days to get the car in E and SV grades, as the updated model will come in only the S, V and VX grades.
The 2018 Honda Jazz will feature rear parking sensors and ABS with EBD in all three grades. Dual-front airbags are already standard. The S grade will gain a front centre armrest and speed sensing auto door lock as well. New features for the V grade will include chrome door handles, passive keyless entry (petrol-CVT and diesel-MT only), push-button start (petrol-CVT and diesel-MT only) and paddle shifters (petrol-CVT only).
The range-topping VX grade will also benefit from some equipment updates. Honda will offer it with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, IR remote control and extended LED tail lights. Some were hoping Honda to make the VX grade’s 'Magic Seats' standard, but instead, according to Autocar India, it has deleted that feature from the Jazz.
The Honda Jazz will remain available in the same engine-transmission combinations post the refresh: 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol-MT, 1.2-litre i-VTEC-CVT and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel-MT.
