Old facelifted Audi A4 launched in India, priced from INR 42 lakh
Introduced in 2015, the fifth-gen Audi A4 was given a facelift in 2018 and even in 2019. Strangely, instead of the once-again-facelifted, latest version, India has got the facelifted version that is over one and a half years old. It is priced at INR 42.00 lakh* in the Premium Plus trim and INR 45.55 lakh* in the fully-loaded Technology trim.
The old facelifted Audi A4 is available solely with the 1.4-litre, turbo-petrol unit. The same unit was also seen on the model it is set to replace. With the new facelift, the luxury sedan has gained new cosmetic teaks along with some new additions in exterior and interior equipment list. Speaking of the design tweaks, it now features remastered front and rear bumpers, and newly designed alloy wheel. Furthermore, its front grille is now flanked by new all-weather LED headlamps which feature daytime running lamps. These DRLs also double up as dynamic turn indicators, seen on recently launched Audi cars. It gets a new alluring flush finish along with the new gloss paint shades. On the inside, the cabin remain identical to the outgoing version save for the new dual tone interiors- black and Atlas beige and Black and Nougat Brown. Also, its dashboard now gets new textured chrome inserts replacing the earlier seen wood finishing.
In terms of features, the range-topping Audi A4 comes with a three-zone auto climate control, Audi's virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, powered front seats with memory function for the driver, front and rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera.
Commenting on the model, Balbir Singh Dhillon, head of Audi India said, “The Audi A4 Quick Lift has undergone styling and feature changes including a new bumper on the front and rear. In addition, Auto Park Assist comes as standard on the Technology variant.”
As for the mechanicals, the facelifted Audi A4 sources power from the 150 PS, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor which sends power to the front wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Aforementioned, there is no diesel engine option present. In terms of competition, the Audi A4 Quick Lift rubs shoulders with the rivals such as the new BMW 3 Series, Jaguar XE and the Mercedes-Benz C-class.
