Paris Live - Opel Insignia and Zafira Tourer with new 2.0-litre CDTI

Develops more power and torque.

In addition to showcasing its new 1.6-litre CDTI diesel engine in the Mokka, Opel has also showcased the new 2.0-litre CDTI motor under the hoods of the Opel Zafira Tourer and Insignia.

Opel's ranging-topping diesel engine pumps out an impressive 170 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The new engine produces 5% more power and 14% more torque compared to the current 2.0-litre CDTI engine, while complying with Euro 6 emission norms.

The company has incorporated various sound engineering measures to minimize the NVH levels. To be made at Opel’s Kaiserslautern engine plant in Germany, the motor was developed by a global team of engineers based in Turin and Rüsselsheim with inputs from North American engineers.

The Zafira Tourer and Insignia with the new 2.0-litre CDTI diesel engine will go on sale in Europe starting from next year. Improvements also come in the form of redesigned combustion chambers, reprofiled intake ports and a new fuel injection system.
