Video - Porsche Macan tackles the sand dunes of Dubai

Porsche have released this promotional video of the Macan tackling Dubai's sand dunes. The Macans in this video continue to be camouflaged however.

The Macan will be presented as an entry-level offering from the Stuttgart-based car maker, and will be the second SUV from the brand. Prices are expected to begin at about 52,000 USD (INR 31.9 lakhs) for the Macan.

Powering the petrol variant of the Porsche Macan will be a 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 335 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Porsche have also made it official that a more powerful 3.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine producing 394 hp and 550 Nm of torque will be available at the time of the launch. All variants feature the 7-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) dual-clutch gearbox as standard.

The Macan world premieres next month at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

For the economy conscious Macan buyer, a 3.0-liter V6 diesel producing 254 hp and 580 Nm of torque will be available. Furthermore, media reports indicate that the four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines that power the Audi Q5, A6 and A4 will be made available later on. Porsche engineers are also planning a hybrid derivative of the Macan for a future launch.
