Here is the most realistic BMW X7 rendering on the internet

The production BMW X7’s patent filings crept into the web last week. On studying the X7's design from the resources available on the web, IAB’s automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania brings us the all-new BMW X7.

While BMW has been historically doing large kidney grilles, critics complain that those on the X7 are not interpreted well.

The X7 has a slightly toned-down exterior in the production version. The road-ready version gets larger headlamps and smaller conjoined kidney grille. The outer air inlets are also smaller, and there’s no ‘X7’ branding at the front. The outer air inlets and the lower air intake both have a new grille pattern. On the sides, it doesn’t feature the flush door handles and the sharp and sleek mirrors seen on the concept presentation.

The BMW X7 is BMW’s first full-size SUV, and it will go up against the Mercedes GLS, Range Rover, and Lexus LX. In some markets such as North America and the Middle East, it will lock horns with regional contenders Cadillac Escalade and the Lincoln Navigator.

Underpinned by the CLAR RWD platform, the BMW X7 will come with a wide range of V6 and V8 options. Leaked data suggests select markets will get 2.0-litre engines as well. Besides, we expect a frugal iPerformance plug-in hybrid variant comprising a 2.0-litre petrol engine and an electric motor and an M Performance variant sporting the BMW M760i/M760 Li’s V12 engine at the top of the pyramid.

The X7 is an iconoclast next to the classic BMW sportscars, but see it for its intended objective and it is a masterstroke, a conquest model here to improve BMW's average transaction value.

The BMW X7 could have its stage debut at the LA Auto Show this November. Production is to take place at the Spartanburg plant (USA), beginning late-2018. Its global launch could take place towards the end of 2018. The 7-seat luxury SUV may not go on sale in India before H2 2019.
