Production Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 now in final pre-launch testing

The Husqvarna Svartpilen was first showcased in 2014.

With the production ready version revealed last year at EICMA, Husqvarna seems to be gearing up for its promised H2-2017 launch. New spy images of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 have been shared by MCN.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 at EICMA 2016 held true to the concept model.

The test unit reveals that the Husqvarna Svartpilen gets Bybre calliper and standard rubber-mounted footpegs. The LED halo ring around the headlamp has been done away while the wire protective guard may be offered as an accessory. The footpegs are now rubber mounted and not the Enduro models seen in the concept.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is powered by the same 373 cc mill seen in the KTM Duke 390. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox the engine is capable of producing 43.5 PS of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. A slipper clutch is also on offer. The bike tips the scales at 150 kg (dry).

Brakes in the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 includes a 300 mm disc up front and a 230 mm unit in the rear with dual channel ABS is standard. Tyres include Scorpion Rally STR sourced from Pirelli.

Husqvarna is expected to retail its new street focused motorcycles in India. The company will source the engine from Bajaj's facility and will manufacture the bike in Austria.
