Production Royal Enfield Concept KX 838 - Render, Features & Launch date expectations

Royal Enfield unveiled the Concept KX bobber at the last year’s EICMA in Milan, Italy. Based on the concept’s design, IAB’s illustrator Shoeb R Kalania has come up with a digital rendering of the production version of the Royal Enfield Bobber 838.

The Royal Enfield Bobber 838 concept features an elongated kidney-shaped fuel tank and round full-LED headlight. The bobber design is highlighted by a single leather-wrapped cantilever seat and the chopped fenders. Unlike the concept, the render features telescopic forks in place of the girder unit and a side-mounted mono-shock.

The production Royal Enfield Bobber 838 rides on 20-spoke alloy wheels that wrap on low-profile radial tyres. Braking is aided by twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back, with radially mounted callipers.

Powering the Royal Enfield Concept KX 838 is an 838cc, V-twin, oil cooled engine with fuel injection. The motor is developed by Royal Enfield in co-operation with Polaris Industries in the UK. While the official power figures are unknown, the engine is reportedly tuned to generate around 90 hp of maximum power. It will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

While Royal Enfield hasn’t revealed any plans to put the Concept KX in production, it has announced that if the company does plan to introduce a bobber, it will be a bigger model and a flagship offering as compared to the 650 twins.

We don’t expect the production Royal Enfield Bobber 838 to launch before 2022 as the company is under the process of updating its existing motorcycles.
