The Qoros 3 City SUV has been in news even before its official unveiling at the Guangzhou Auto Show last month. The vehicle, based on the Qoros 3 Hatch, is the more rugged looking version, but is not positioned as an off-roader.

The vehicle has been launched in China with prices starting at 139,900 Yuan (equivalent to INR 14.28 lakh) for the basic Active variant (manual transmission), going all the way up to 179,900 Yuan (INR 18.36 lakh) for the top-spec Excite variant that comes with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

The Qoros 3 City SUV was unveiled last month at the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show in China.

On the outside, the vehicle flaunts a two-tone design with black panels, twin exhaust pipes, a matte silver diffuser at the front and a similarly painted skid plate up front. It will be available in a total of four trim levels, namely Active, Style, Style Plus, and Excite.

While the range-topping Excite version is packed with features like Xenon headlamps, keyless entry and push button start, reverse parking camera, 18-inch wheels, etc., but that's not to say that the base Active variant is bare in terms of standard equipment. 17-inch alloys, Bluetooth-enabled audio system - a part of Qoros' MMH (Multi Media Hub), Follow-me-home headlamps, LED combination lamps, etc. all come standard.

Powering the vehicle is a 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 156 hp of maximum power and 210 Nm of maximum torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard on Active and Style versions, while Style (optional), Style Plus, and Excite get a 6-speed dual clutch automatic (DCT) gearbox.

The vehicle measures 4.45 m long, 1.85 m wide, 1.50 m tall and has a wheelbase of 2.69 m.
