Moscow Live - Range Rover Sport SVR

Following its worldwide debut at the 2014 Pebble Beach a little more than a week ago, the Range Rover Sport SVR has made its Russian debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show (Moscow International Auto Salon 2014).

The Sport SVR is the most powerful Land Rover to have ever been made.

To briefly describe the Range Rover Sport SVR, it's putting the V8 supercharged variant on steroids. Power comes from the same 5.0-liter V8 engine, but produces 550 PS (542.2 bhp) and 680Nm of torque, which is a substantial 40 PS (39.4 bhp) and 56 Nm increase. The engine is coupled to a revised 8-speed ZF gearbox and a clever four-wheel-drive system that, overall, helps the SUV gallop from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5-seconds, before hitting a limited top-speed of 260 km/h.

Land Rover has also tuned the all-aluminium chassis to make it feel more driver-focused. A first for Land Rover is the dual mode valve-operated exhaust system that further improves the deep exhaust note of the V8 engine, according to the company.

All the enhancements made to the car has helped the Range Rover Sport SVR achieve the record for the fastest SUV around the Nürburgring, with a time of 8 minutes 14 seconds.
