Range Rover, Subaru WRX, Toyota Sequoia enjoy highest residual value - USA

Land Rover has topped the premium brand for the second consecutive time.

ALG, which is the analytics division of TrueCar, Inc has announced the winners of the 2016 Residual Value Awards (RVA). Land Rover has topped in Premium brands while Subaru has achieved highest ranking in the Mainstream brand. The awards were presented to the manufacturers at the recently concluded 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Land Rover has achieved this accolade for the second time in a row. The manufacturer has also received awards in the Premium Compact Utility, Premium Full-size Utility and Premium Midsize Utility 2nd Row Seating with its Land Rover Discovery Sport, Land Rover Range Rover and Land Rover Range Rover Sport respectively.

On the other hand, Subaru also had a good showing with five segment awards. Its products like the WRX, Legacy and Outback are now back-to-back winners. Similar to Subaru, Toyota also raked in five awards which also included the Toyota Sequoia as the best full-size utility. Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus followed up the parent company’s performance with three awards of its own. Another Japanese brand Honda, was successful with a tally of four awards.

Larry Dominique, president of ALG and executive vice president of TrueCar says, “Residual values are a key indicator for the market success of a vehicle, factoring in quality, product execution and brand desirability as primary drivers of ALG’s forecast. Depreciation being the single biggest expense of vehicle ownership, informed consumers are aware of the importance of residual values when making their purchase decision.”
