Speaking about the upcoming products, Rahul Sharma, Founder of Revolt Intellicorp, told ET Auto that his new venture would disrupt India’s two-wheeler market with sound research, a strong team and technical expertise. Sharma also added that his learning from the mobile handset business would play an important role in his electric vehicle endeavour.

Sharma told ET Auto:

Indian automobile market is like a feature phone market which is now on the cusp of transforming... With product and prices like us, I am 100 percent sure, we will disrupt the market.

Sharma also shared some of the finer details about Revolt Intellicorp’s upcoming electric motorcycle. He added that the electric bike could clock a top speed of 100 km/h and feature three riding modes – economy, city and sports. Do note that the company had claimed a top speed of 85 km/h when it had announced the completion of the homologation process from Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). The ARAI certified range of the upcoming Revolt Intellicorp motorcycle stands at 156 km/full charge.

Speaking about his decision to participate in the electric vehicle business, Sharma added:

I have been tracking the industry for the last five years. Initially, I wanted to invest in the electric two wheeler company but due to lack of right product I wasn’t able to invest. Being a product guy, I was clear about the product I wanted. So, I thought of starting on my own. Moreover, in this whole exercise I found the product gap as there is no reliable, powerful and good looking electric motorcycle in the India market.

The price for the upcoming electric motorcycle, as mentioned above, will be announced at the launch event in June. The Revolt Intellicorp motorcycle will have 50% localised parts at launch, and the company aims to take that number to 90% in the next 18 months.

The current plant capacity stands at 1.2 lakh units per annum. Rahul Sharma's new electric vehicle brand will compete against the likes of Ultraviolette and Tork Motors, among others.
