The Revolt RV 400 is said to be launched on 22 July and expected to cost close to the INR 1 lakh (on-road Delhi). However, the proposed GST cut for electric vehicles could result in an even lower price. Regular readers would know that a proposal has been made to reduce GST on electric vehicles from 12% to 5% to boost sales and achieve mass-electrification.

Unveiled on 18 June, the Revolt RV 400 packs several new features such as full LED lighting and a digital console with Bluetooth connectivity to control functions via a smartphone app. The Revolt app monitors the battery levels and can be used to order new battery online or find battery swapping station. The app can also set geofencing and tracking trip details of the motorcycle. Moreover, the rider can select the desired exhaust note from the list of presets available, or download new sounds.

In terms of styling, the RV 400 looks similar to China’s Super Soco TS electric bike. Revolt Motors has confirmed that Super Soco is one of its vendors. In terms of performance, the RV 400 can clock a maximum speed of 85 km/h. Its ARAI-certified range stands at 156 km. The owner does not have to wait at the charging station for too long as the empty battery pack can be replaced by a fully charged unit at one of the many swapping stations installed by the brand. Owners can also order a fully charged battery pack from the smartphone app to their home or offices.

The hardware specifications match some of the premium motorcycles with an internal combustion engine and the RV 400 comes equipped with a monoshock suspension at the back and upside-down telescopic forks at the front. Surprisingly, though, the motorcycle was not seen with the safety net of ABS or CBS at the launch event.

With a proposed GST cut for electric vehicles, the Revolt RV 400 could arrive at an even lower price tag than expected.
