Royal Enfield brand debuts in Thailand, growth in India continues - IAB Report

Royal Enfield has formally made its entry into Thailand and is presenting a part of its range at the ongoing 2015 Thailand Motor Expo. This is part of the company's global expansion plan, which recently included Paris, London, Madrid, Dubai, Medellin and Bogota.
RE has partnered with General Auto Supply (GA) for vehicle distribution, service and spares in Thailand and the first RE exclusive dealership will be opened at Thonglor in Bangkok in the coming months.
The company will sell only four models in Thailand at the beginning - the Royal Enfield Bullet 500, the Royal Enfield Classic 500, the Royal Enfield Classic Chrome and the Royal Enfield Continental GT.

In India, RE has reported a 48 percent hike in sales (40,769 units from 27,542 units) in November compared to the same month last year, and the exports have also increased to 457 units from 344 units. The year-to-date sales have grown by 51 percent to 4,12,359 units from 2,73,957.

In 2014, the overall sales grew by 70 percent as the company sold more than 3 lakh motorcycles worldwide. By the end of 2018, RE plans to produce 9 lakh units. Currently there are two plants catering to the demand, and a third plant will soon be inaugurated in Tamil Nadu.
