Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4 heads to dealers, available for test ride - Report

The Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4 has started arriving at dealerships across the country; and at a Pune dealership, it available for test rides, according to a picture taken by a Team BHP user, //M.

The BS4 variant gets subtle visual changes, apart from fuel injection.

The BS4 variant of the Himalayan gains fuel injection but the engine is the same 411 cc single cylinder SOHC unit with oil-cooler. The powerplant gives out 24.5 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission. Visual changes are minor, which includes black treatment on handlebar and fork clamp; bar-end weights, fuel tank cap, and the pannier mounting points.

For suspension, the bike employs 41 mm telescopic forks to hold the front 21 inch spoke wheels. The 17 inch rear wheel uses a monoshock with linkage. The front suspension offers 200 mm of travel while the rear offers 180 mm.

Expect the Himalayan BS4 to cost INR 2 lakhs, on-road, Delhi.

The bike uses a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm disc. Certain dealers have already started taking bookings, and expect the launch to happen within weeks The on-road, Delhi price of the Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4 will be about INR 2 lakhs. Other than the fuel injection and small visual changes, there is no word about the inclusion of ABS.

Apart from the BS4 Himalayan, a 750cc parallel twin Royal Enfield is also in the works, and is expected to be launched this financial year.
