The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been snapped testing again, in Chennai. The new motorcycle is expected to be launched at the Rider Mania in Goa, later this month, according to reports.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to be launched in two variants.

The Himalayan is expected to be launched in two variants - a spruced up adventure tourer with off-road friendly equipment and a mellowed down version with more of a scrambler body style. The new spyshots feature the latter.

The first variant is what was spotted earlier, with a heightened fork, high-mounted front mud guard, a fuel tank guard, a sizable windshield, and a luggage carrier at the back. The second, city-friendly version features a regular sized fork, and a more conventional front mud guard arrangement, and misses out on the adventure-friendly accessories.

Both variants would feature the same engine tune.

The common components include a circular headlamp, a new fuel tank, split seats, an LED taillight, an exposed chassis, slanted exhaust, spoke wheels of varying diameter (larger upfront and smaller at the rear), and dual purpose tyres. Both versions are based on the same twin cradle frame that was engineered by a Royal Enfield-owned UK-based chassis specialist named Harris Performance.
