Royal Enfield Himalayan gets an air-cooled engine with an oil-cooler - Spied

To be launched at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The latest spyshots of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, courtesy of ZigWheels, reveal that the motorcycle gets an air-cooled engine with an oil-cooler, similar to the Bajaj Pulsar 220. The publication claims that the company's first adventure tourer is slated for launch at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is said to get Pirelli tyres as option, while the standard ones would be from Ceat.

The Himalayan is believed to be powered by a 410 cc single-cylinder engine that can produce around 28 PS of maximum power and 32 Nm of peak torque. Further specifications of the engine, as mentioned in the report include an Over-Head Camshaft configuration, a counter balancer and a five-speed gearbox.

Further revelations through the spyshots include the motorcycle's instrument console, which comprises of four dials, with one of them housing an LCD screen. The cluster is reported to have various instruments including an analogue speedometer, an analog tachometer, and a digital display for clock, odometer, tripmeter, compass and altimeter readings.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is reported to get an ABS variant in 2017.

The publication claims that the RE Himalayan will be offered with Ceat tyres as standard and Pirelli tyres as an option, and a range of accessories including hand guards, crash protection bars, a high windshield and hard luggage systems. It also mentions that the ABS variant of the Himalayan would not be launched until 2017.
