Royal Enfield Himalayan Malaysia launch in H1 2018 - Report

Paultan.org reports that the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan will be launched in the country in the first half of 2018.

The Himalayan is ideal for riders who are looking for a simple, rugged adventure motorcycle.

Durrani Shahrom of the website's Bahasa Malaysia section was informed about the launch plan. According to the site, the bike is likely to be priced at MYR 40,000 (INR 6.25 lakhs). The fuel injected version of the Himalayan was launched in India in September. The production of the ABS version for the European market has reportedly commenced, and the Euro 4 bike will be launched in France in January 2018.

A single cylinder 411 cc engine with fuel injection, air and oil cooling powers the motorcycle. It produces a maximum power of 24.5 bhp @ 6,500 rpm. The peak torque of 32 Nm comes in at 4,250 rpm. The gearbox is a 5-speed unit. 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear handle the suspension responsibilities. Brakes include a 300 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear.

The front suspension offers 200 mm travel, while the rear has 180 mm travel.

A 220 mm ground clearance, and a seat height of 800 mm ensures good off-road capability and at the same time being accessible for shorter riders. The motorcycle weighs 191 kg, kerb, and has a 15-litre fuel tank.
