Royal Enfield Himalayan with Sidecar showcased at the Paris Motor Show
Royal Enfield has showcased the Royal Enfield Himalayan with Sidecar at the ongoing Paris Motor Show 2018.
This particular version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan with Sidecar is displayed at the SW-Motech stand, which is a motorcycle luggage accessories company. The display model features various touring fitments like saddlebags, tank bags, Smartphone mounts, a fuel jerry can and different waterproof duffle bags from SW-Motech.
The sidecar, finished in a shade of matte black, features a side-step, short windscreen and knobby tyres with wire-spoke wheels. Apart from the addition of the sidecar and the luggage accessories, the Himalayan remains unchanged.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a purpose-built adventure touring motorcycle that features long-travel suspension at both the ends. Royal Enfield recently launched the Himalayan ABS model in India, priced at INR 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Powering the Himalayan is a 411 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with oil cooling. The fuel-injected motor is capable of producing 24.5 bhp of maximum power and 32 Nm of peak torque. The long-stroke LS410 engine works in tandem with a 5-speed gearbox.
Suspension hardware on the Royal Enfield Himalayan comprises of conventional 41 mm telescopic front forks and a linkage-type mono-shock at the back. The bike has a suspension travel of 200 mm at the front and 180 mm at the rear, along with a ground clearance of 220 mm.

Stopping power comes from a 300 mm single disc at the front, while the rear features a 240 mm rotor, with optional dual-channel ABS from Bosch. The Himalayan rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels that pair with knobby off-road tyres from CEAT. The Royal Enfield Himalayan competes in the same segment as the Kawasaki Versys X-300 and the BMW G 310 GS.
