Royal Enfield Himalayan spotted with off-roader exhaust - Spied

Brand to be positioned between the Bajaj Pulsar AS series and the Triumph Tiger.

After being spotted earlier with the exhaust that one has come to associate with the Continental GT, images from Gaadiwaadi show the Royal Enfield Himalayan with a more adventurous 'off-roader' type exhaust. The Himalayan is set to be Royal Enfield's next launch.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan will find itself in the thick of the Adventure Touring segment in the market.

The bike will debut the brand in the adventure-touring segment. With competition like the Triumph's Tiger range above it and the recently launched Bajaj Pulsar's AS range at the lower-end, the Himalayan is expected to position itself between the sports and the premium bikes in the market. At present, the Royal Enfield Continental GT, priced at around INR 2.1 lakh is the company's most expensive offering.

Going by the images, the Himalayan is set to share a majority of its parts with the Continental GT - the petrol tank, instrument cluster, and the wheels for starters. The bike also features disc brakes at both ends and seems to be riding without a kick starter.

To keep costs down, the Himalayan will share parts like the petrol tank and instrument cluster with the Continental GT.

While the front gets telescopic suspension, the rear gets a monoshock setup. The image also shows the rider snugly fitting into the seat that finds itself on top of a rear tyre that's fatter than the front. In classic RE style, both tyres are fitted on spoke wheels.
