The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Chrome (Glitter & Dust paint scheme) retails at INR 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Last week, we reported about the commencement of the deliveries of the Interceptor 650 Baker Express colour option. The motorcycle is available in six paint schemes - Mark Three (Black), Silver Spectre, Orange Crush, Ravishing Red, Baker Express and Glitter & Dust (Chrome). The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Chrome colour option is priced at INR 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

As compared to the standard model, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Glitter & Dust paint scheme features a chrome fuel tank. Unlike the black detailing seen on the dual-tone models, the Chrome variant remains unchanged. The Interceptor 650 is the one bringing in more customers amongst the 650 twins, and the bikes command a waiting period of up to six months.

Powering the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is an all-new 648cc parallel-twin oil-cooled motor that is good for 47 bhp and 52 Nm while coming mated to a six-speed gearbox with a standard slipper clutch. The engine has been tuned for linear power delivery and a flat torque curve.

The Royal Enfield 650 Twins clocked 629 units in December 2018, which were more than the sales of the KTM 390 Duke, TVS Apache RR 310 and the BMW G 310 R put together. That said, Royal Enfield is facing problems from its workers' union, who have gone on strike at the Oragadam plant once again. While the company is in the process of doubling production, it remains to be seen how soon the company can achieve it.

Royal Enfield hasn't offered any top-shelf equipment on the 650 Twins to maintain the pure, authentic motorcycling experience. Thus, the Interceptor 650 comes shod with telescopic forks up front and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. Braking is aided by single disc brakes at the front and back, while electronic wizardry is limited to dual-channel ABS, which isn't switchable.
