Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have been caught testing on video, courtesy of YouTuber Keralite Roshan. The video shows the 650 twins manoeuvring through Chennai city traffic.
The two bikes will grace showrooms in a few months. Royal Enfield showcased the 650 twins late last year at the EICMA 2017, while they made their static Indian premiere at the Rider Mania 2017. The bikes were expected to come out in the first quarter of FY2018-19. However, the launch has been delayed as Royal Enfield wants the highest quality of motorcycles to be rolled out of its factories.
According to Siddhartha Lal, CEO - Royal Enfield, the company is sorting 'ramping issues' and 'it's only a matter of few months' before the bikes are launched for Indian buyers. The company has opened bookings for the 650 twins in the UK.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 are powered by an all-new 648 cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled, fuel injected engine that is tuned to produce 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a new 6-speed gearbox and a slip & assist clutch. The 650 twins also come loaded with a standard dual-channel ABS.
