Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 being tested with aftermarket exhaust from Red Rooster Performance [Video]
While the S&S exhaust system is still not available in India, Royal Enfield 650 Twins would soon receive an aftermarket option from Red Rooster Performance. The aftermarket exhaust is currently being tested and should be available for sale very soon. Royal Enfield offers the S&S exhaust system optionally in overseas markets, but it doesn't plan to offer that option in the domestic market.

Royal Enfield’s 648 cc motor is in parallel-twin format. But the single-piece forged counterbalanced crankshaft comes with a 270-degree firing order that is aimed to provide V-twin-like character to the exhaust note and minimal vibrations. The new exhaust system from Red Rooster Performance adds an even more mesmerising sound to the 650 Twins.
Does the new exhaust system offer a performance upgrade too? As mentioned above, the exhaust is currently being tested, and thus, the performance numbers are still not available. That said, we could see a marginal increase in the horsepower with the aftermarket exhaust. For reference, the engine delivers 47 bhp of power at 7,250 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm in factory tuning.
Will you run into trouble with the authorities? There is no mention of ARAI certification but going by the video, the exhaust does not sound too loud to attract attention. We shall wait for Red Rooster Performance to make an announcement. The company already offers aftermarket exhausts for motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Classic, Himalayan and the Continental GT.
Will it burn a hole in your bank account? Most likely not. While there is no mention of the prices yet, the exhausts should come at a relatively affordable price tag. We would wait for an announcement from Red Rooster Performance.
