Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 spied testing in India again
The Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 has been spotted testing in the country again. The motorcycle, which was unveiled at the 2017 EICMA show, will go on sale in markets by this summer. India will get the bike only after its rollout in global markets.
The test mule was spotted at the Chennai-Kolkata NH5 highway. The mule sports a pair of matte black exhausts with black bodywork. The headlight nacelle and the fenders have chrome highlights as well. While the front spoke wheel seems to have a black rim, the rear rim is left unpainted. The round rear view mirrors get chrome finish too.

Powering the modern classic is an all-new 648 cc SOHC 4-valve parallel twin unit. It features an oil-cooler and fuel injection. The engine comes with a 270 degree crank with a balancer shaft to smoothen out vibrations. The powerplant makes 47 PS at 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with an all-new 6-speed transmission with slip-assist clutch.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 rides on telescopic front forks, and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. Brakes include 320 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc with ABS. The rims wear Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres for optimum grip. The brand will be launching the bike locally in the summer months of this year. In the 650 cc cruiser segment, its chief rival would be the Kawasaki Vulcan S.
