IAB Report - Royal Enfield introduces new colours across the model range

Following an extensive overhaul of its brand logo, crest, monogram and badges, Royal Enfield has now introduced new colours to its popular models. The Royal Enfield Classic 500, Classic 350, Thunderbird 500, Thunderbird 350, Bullet 500 and Bullet Electra have all been given new coats of paint.

The Thunderbird 350 gets a new shade of blue and a shade of silver along with its existing black.

The Classic 500 gets an all-new shade, Classic Tan and the Classic 350 gets Lagoon and Ash colours in addition to the black and the silver colours. The Thunderbird 500 and the Thunderbird 350 get two new colours - Marine and Stone.

While new colours have been provided across the range, Royal Enfield hasn't given any of the bikes a mechanical upgrade. The same 350 cc and 500 cc Unit Construction Engine is employed, with the exception of the Continental GT, which gets a 535 cc engine.

Royal Enfield's mandate to refresh itself, along with its products, come in the face of impending competition from both foreign manufacturers like Hyosung, Harley Davidson, KTM and domestic joint ventures like the TVS-BMW partnership.

Importantly, new players like UM Global are set to bring in smaller cruiser bikes. UM's bikes will be partly localised at the start, before the company sets up a joint venture with a local player for further localisation.
