Royal Enfield stated in an announcement:

Rudratej Singh (Rudy) has decided to pursue opportunities outside of Royal Enfield owing to personal commitments. With this decision, Rudy will cease to be the official media spokesperson for Royal Enfield with immediate effect.

Singh was involved in the launch of various iterations of Royal Enfield's Classic range, the series of motorcycles, which according to Siddhartha Lal, CEO, Eicher Motors, filled a gap that no one knew existed. He was also involved in the launch of products such as the Himalayan, the Thunderbird 350X and the Thunderbird 500X. The Interceptor INT 650 and Continental GT 650 were the most recent products to have arrived under Singh.

In the meantime, Lalit Malik, CFO, Eicher Motors will be taking on the additional responsibility.

His departure comes at a crucial time as Royal Enfield is developing an armada of products that would arrive with the BS-VI emission norms in 2020. The company plans to introduce motorcycles based on four new platforms – P, J, Q and K.

The P architecture will underpin for the Interceptor INT 650, the Continental GT 650 and similar products. The platform is expected to witness the arrival of the 650cc Himalayan that has been speculated ever since the 650 Twins made their debut. The 650cc Himalayan will be a crucial part of the company’s portfolio as the adventure tourer segment is witnessing an ever-increasing competition with the introduction of new products. Rudratej Singh had ruled out its arrival in the short term, but the motorcycle should arrive in 2020.

The Q and K architecture would underpin motorcycles that target to compete against higher displacement models from Harley-Davidson and Triumph Motorcycles. Royal Enfield has already revealed the Concept KX that, as the name suggests, uses the K platform.
