Skoda's 7-seat SUV based on the actual car - Rendering
To be priced in the whereabouts of the Superb.
VW-owned Skoda is working on a new SUV codenamed 'A Plus SUV', which will be larger than the Yeti. Select European publications were shown the SUV in an exclusive event, though they weren't allowed to take pictures of it, reports Auto Moto, one of the publication which claims to have seen the car.
Auto Moto has since come up with a rendering of the car, seen here, which it claims is closest in terms of design to the A Plus SUV shown at the event.
The A Plus is designed to rival the likes of the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Kia Sorento, but will be priced competitively, according to Skoda boss, Dr. Winfried Vahland. The executive also confirmed that the SUV will not be named 'Snowman' as speculated earlier.
Power for the A Plus will come only from four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, though Skoda could explore the possibility of offering a plug-in hybrid variant later on in its lifecycle. Matched to manual and automatic transmissions, the A Plus will be offered with 2WD and 4WD.

Skoda could consider introducing the A Plus in India as a potential rival to the Toyota Fortuner, which solely contributes to volumes of about 1,500 units per month.
