Skoda compact SUV (Next-gen Skoda Yeti) - Rendering
Should debut sometime next year.
At the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen introduced the second generation VW Tiguan. Based on the all-new VW Tiguan, Volkswagen's sister company, Skoda, will likely debut a new compact SUV next year. A speculative rendering from IAB's automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania shows how the new compact SUV from the Czech automaker may look like.
The new Skoda compact SUV could indeed be the second generation Skoda Yeti, as the latter is said to go for a more conventional design in its second generation. As seen in the rendering, the new Skoda compact SUV would follow the new design language for SUVs introduced with the Skoda VisionS concept but look similar to the VW Tiguan in shape.
Underpinned by the MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten or Modular Transverse Toolkit) platform, the compact SUV should have a lot in common with the Seat Ateca, also based on the VW Tiguan.

The new Skoda compact SUV could be offered with the same 1.0-, 1.4- and 2.0-litre TSI petrol and 1.6- and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines with outputs ranging from 115 hp to 190 hp. Transmission choices may include 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic and 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic. The interior should be derived from the Skoda Kodiaq 7-seat crossover that will debut in H2 2016.
