The Skoda Rapid Sport Concept portrays the company's design abilities

The annual Worthersee tuning event is conducted by Volkswagen Group at the Austrian city of Reifnitz. The event serves as a rendezvous for around 2,00,000 tuning enthusiasts every year.

Some insane concepts like the 503PS Audi A1 Clubsport quattro (2011) were first showcased at Worthersee. This year, VW has confirmed an extreme Golf GTI concept for the event.

Skoda had also showcased its fair share of dramatic concepts in previous Worthersee events. This year's concept, the Rapid Sport is a "racy study" which portrays Skoda's design abilities.

The Skoda Rapid Sport is nothing but a Rapid on steroids. The front fascia is mean with a new secondary airdam and an aggressive front skirt. The wheel arches are flared to add drama. The car is finished in a combination of "Corrida Red" and "Steel Gray" shades.

Carbon fibre skirts run all around the car and massive 19" dual tone alloy wheels are placed at the four corners. Skoda says that the rear of the car gets a "voluminous" bumper and integrated dual exhaust pipes.

The interior complements the exterior with a sporty steering wheel, Recaro racing bucket seats and illuminated door sills.

Skoda hasn't released any information on the performance stats of the Rapid Sport concept but you don't bring just a cosmetically enhanced car to Worthersee. So we expect some surprises under the hood as well.
