Skoda "working hard" on a new SUV bigger than Yeti
We had already reported that Skoda is in an expansionist mood, looking to diversify the Yeti into two vehicles, one smaller than the current model, and one bigger than it. A rendering of the VisionD-inspired, big Yeti is attached to the left.
The big SUV will have more interior space than competitors allowing Skoda to fix three rows of seats. The new Skoda SUV could share its underpinnings with the new Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q5 and the upcoming Porsche Macan. Engines and transmissions are likely to be picked out from the same lineup for the Skoda model which could be the cheapest Volkswagen group SUV in its category.
This SUV will be built in Volkswagen’s factory in Slovakia that will also manufacture the trio of the Up, Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo.
