Spied - First spottings of the Nissan Micra facelift on the Indian soil
If you are a regular reader of IAB, you would be aware that Nissan has given a comprehensive facelift to the Micra in some markets such as Indonesia and Thailand. A comprehensive facelift was given to the Micra so that it could shed its girly image and thus widen its target market.
But we have something juicy for you this afternoon.
Thanks to our friends at MotorBash, we bring you the first sightings of the Nissan Micra facelift on the Indian soil. This is very different from the international version especially the headlamp design.
In fact, it reminds us of our rendering maestro SRK's creation. One thing is for sure, the Indian facelift is very different from the international one.
A Motorbash reader has managed to snap the Indian Nissan Micra facelift in Pune perhaps undergoing its ARAI testing. The test mule is partly covered with thick black camouflage on the front and rear fascia.
The international Nissan Micra facelift was revealed at the 2013 Bangkok Motor Show and features the following changes –
- New front bumper
- New headlamps
- New fog lamps
- New 15-inch alloy wheels
- A set of new LED tail lamps
- A rear spoiler
- A blackened center console
It has some added features too such as -
- New graphics on the MID
- New functions and messages integrated in the MID such as Trip Computer, Welcome & Anniversary, Alert & Warning, Maintenance, Break Notice and Back Sensor.
- Newly designed automatic air-conditioner interface
While we are not sure how many of these features will trickle down to the Indian variant, we are in-the-know that Nissan India will offer an automatic variant of the Micra when the facelift is officially launched in India. It will have Nissan’s XTRONIC CVT gearbox paired to the petrol engine.
We don’t foresee any changes to the diesel line-up apart from perhaps addition of ABS in the top diesel variant.
There are no details available on the official launch of the Nissan Micra facelift in India. So stay tuned as we try to dig for more scoops.
