Spied - Ssangyong Actyon facelift caught testing, redesigned rear exposed

To put it in the softest manner, the Ssangyong Actyon SUV has an undesirable design.

So, the compact SUV's facelift should be more than just a nip and tuck job, in other words, it needs a comprehensive revision.

The front fascia gets entirely refurbished.

The front of the current Ssangyong Actyon for your reference

We brought you the news that the Actyon facelift is testing in China earlier this year. Here are the spyshots of the camouflaged test mule of the facelifted car captured by Auto.hankyung.com. The good thing is, the car does appear to have an elaborately redesigned front fascia.

The spyshots reveal the rear-end fully but the front is thickly camouflaged. However, on close observation, we get an idea how the front would look like. It surely does seem to resemble that of the Actyon Sports pickup truck but that's not a bad thing.

The rear gets new bumper and reprofiled taillight elements

The profile of the car hasn't undergone any noticeable change. Coming to the rear, we would have loved to see a completely new rear fascia but Ssangyong decided to update only the bumper and the tail lamp elements. The new rear bumper is completely new and has sleeker reflector units while the taillights get reprofiled.

The Ssanyong Actyon appears to be wearing the front fascia of the Actyon Sports pickup which is not a bad thing

The current car is powered by a 2.3 litre petrol motor which develops 150 bhp or a 2.0 litre diesel which is good for 138 bhp. Transmission choices are a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. We expect these powertrains to continue with minor improvements.

The facelift would help the Ssangyong Actyon to gain a lot of confidence! The condition of the test mule suggests that the Ssangyong Actyon facelift is not far away from its launch.
