Mahindra haven't announced its arrival in the Indian market, but given that they showcased the Tivoli at the Auto Expo 2016 and are extensively testing it on Indian roads, the Korean SUV is likely to be launched later this financial year. It could be assembled with CKD kits at Mahindra's plant in Chakan, and accompany the lone Ssangyong Rexton in the Korean manufacturer's product range in India.

The Ssangyong Tivoli is the first new product for Ssangyong since Mahindra acquired Ssangyong in 2011. It measures 4,202 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width and 1,590 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, slotting it in the compact SUV segment that comprises of the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster.

In the Korean market, it's available with a 1.6-litre petrol unit that produces 160 PS and and 160 Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre diesel engine that produces 115 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Both models offer a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission as well as an optional all-wheel drive system.
