The Ssangyong Tivoli EVR concept has been showcased at the Seoul Motor Show 2015, which opened its doors this week. The Mahindra-owned car maker also debuted the XAV concept at the show.

The Tivoli EVR concept, first shown at the Geneva Motor Show last month, is the greener version of the compact SUV with CO2 emissions of only 40 g/km. Courtesy of this ultra low emission is a 127 bhp electric motor. Unlike a pure electric vehicle though, engineers have fitted a single-cylinder petrol engine which acts as a range extender.

The pure electric range of the Tivoli EVR stands at 128 km, which can be increased to 496 km with the range extender. The top-speed of the compact SUV stands at 148.8 km/h.

Inside, the Tivoli EVR concept is dressed in beige with a large central touchscreen display, much like the Tesla Model S.

Ssangyong maintains that the Tivoli EVR is still a concept, but producing it on a limited scale is not ruled out completely in the long run. For 2015 though, Ssangyong remains committed on introducing a diesel engine and a Tivoli 7-seat version.
